| By Biswajit Dey, on August 25th, 2010% Yes, I have been planning for this weekend trip for a long time. But I could not make time for it. Finally I managed to visit the place. Antoroi is a remote village and is the native place of our cook. It’s in the border of Orissa and West Bengal and you won’t find any traces of this place anywhere is internet or google maps . I must say here that I love rural area. A few days off to such places is really a bliss and a very good way of getting refreshed and refueled for our regular life. . . . → Read More: A Village Named Antoroi By Biswajit Dey, on August 4th, 2010% I went out with Joy Da and Rajarshi on a summer morning on Kolkata streets. We reached Sheldah at around 6:30 and started to walk towards M. G. Road and captured the glimpses of the busy morning. We mainly covered the shops and markets near that place and I tried mostly monochrome shots! . . . → Read More: Glimpses of a Busy Kolkata Morning By Biswajit Dey, on August 4th, 2010% After the event at Golt Green (the event is described in my previous post) came to an end, I noted the time…..I was a bit late and had to start for the new destination right away. As you know, it is almost like a transport strike on the Holi day, I had to travel changing the transport from auto to bus and then to taxi to reach Sudder Street. The place was really quite and nothing seemed to happen. I was in doubt – was it the correct place. I called up Asis Da and Tumpa to confirm and also talked to some local people. I came to know that some people are already out in a procession and they will be back in a minute. So I waited there and had my breakfast. . . . → Read More: Holi (2010) – The Ecstatic Way!!! By Biswajit Dey, on August 3rd, 2010% The Holi of 2010 is really memorable for me! I don’t remember of any Holi occasion when I have not been drenched in colours, but this time it was a different experience altogether – I went out to capture the Holi in the streets of Kolkata. It was planned a few days before the day. I gathered some info from Asis Da and Tumpa about where to go. Finally, I sorted out to capture two different moods of Holi – the first one – Holi in Traditional Way (in this post) and the second one – Holi the Ecstatic Way (in my next post). . . . → Read More: Holi (2010) – The Traditional Way!!! By Biswajit Dey, on August 2nd, 2010% I got my Nikon D90 on 9th Jan, 2010. I just could not wait much longer to get out and start shooting again. Tumpa again accompanied me on the very next day (i.e. 10th Jan, 2010) and we went to the Vintage Car Rally. Although we were a bit late to the venue and had a lot of trouble entering the Fort Williams Ground without a pass, we managed to get through and got a few good clicks. We had to argue with the officers in charge (you know they are army men) regarding why they should let us enter the venue without the entry pass. After quite a few tries, argues and persuasion; we got one used pass (in front of the officers ) from a person returning from the venue. . . . → Read More: Vintage Car Rally, Kolkata – 2010 | |
