Holi (2010) – The Ecstatic Way!!!

Face That Speaks a Lot!

After the event at Golt Green (the event is described in my previous post) came to an end, I noted the time…..I was a bit late and had to start for the new destination right away. As you know, it is almost like a transport strike on the Holi day, I had to travel changing the transport from auto to bus and then to taxi to reach Sudder Street. The place was really quite and nothing seemed to happen. I was in doubt – was it the correct place. I called up Asis Da and Tumpa to confirm and also talked to some local people. I came to know that some people are already out in a procession and they will be back in a minute. So I waited there and had my breakfast. . . . → Read More: Holi (2010) – The Ecstatic Way!!!

Holi (2010) – The Traditional Way!!!

The Spirit of Holi

The Holi of 2010 is really memorable for me! I don’t remember of any Holi occasion when I have not been drenched in colours, but this time it was a different experience altogether – I went out to capture the Holi in the streets of Kolkata. It was planned a few days before the day. I gathered some info from Asis Da and Tumpa about where to go. Finally, I sorted out to capture two different moods of Holi – the first one – Holi in Traditional Way (in this post) and the second one – Holi the Ecstatic Way (in my next post). . . . → Read More: Holi (2010) – The Traditional Way!!!

Making jupc online!!!

jupconline

I have been associated with JUPC for my entire college days and we made JUPC online when I was in 4th year of engineering. Initially I developed it in dreamweaver and it was a simple html website. After that, JUPC got a makeover and the site was developed afresh by Sayan. After that when I saw that the website was down for several months, I thought of pitching in. I contacted them and finally started the new website with fresh views. I migrated the site to a new host and built it with Joomla! I used Joomla as a CMS for it’s maintainability and easy update options with a good amount of component, module and plug in support. And finally this is it: www.jupconline.com. . . . → Read More: Making jupc online!!!

Flower Shower

Buddy

After the hectic shooting at Vintage Car Rally, we went to Alipore Horticultural Society, where there was a Flower Exhibition going on. Although I didn’t have a good lens for those flowers, bees and butterflies (I only have one 18-105mm 3.5-5.6 kit lens), this is the modest output of that day. I also tried a few shots with Tumpa’s 80-200mm 2.8 master piece lens, but it was too heavy to easily operate for the first time. . . . → Read More: Flower Shower

Illusion

It's not What You Think

It definitely looks like a pond of chocolate – it is basically the river bed during low tide. It was shot on the river bed of Matla near Canning, West Bengal, India. My friend Tumpa accompanied me in this photowalk on a winter morning. It was taken when I was in college. . . . → Read More: Illusion
